Supporting Young Basketball Talent: Frederick R Miller Ltd’s Impact in 2024 and 2025

Frederick Miller continues to show its commitment to young athletes by supporting basketball in the Surrey region. In 2024, they played a key role in helping local talent reach new heights.

They partnered with Hoop Dreams, a basketball training programme that offers elite sessions to talented players from the area. These invitation-only scrimmages and workouts give young athletes the chance to improve their skills in a controlled and competitive environment. Sessions began in summer 2024, giving junior players a chance to develop and prepare for the next level. Players invited to these sessions are recognised as having the potential to reach elite player status.

One of the highlights of the year was the Under-16 basketball tour to Latvia, where players competed in the European Youth Basketball League (EYBL). The EYBL is an elite league featuring top clubs from across Europe, offering young talent the chance to test themselves against high-level competition. Frederick R Miller Ltd’s sponsorship made this trip affordable for players whose families might not have been able to cover the costs.

During the tour, players wore two sets of playing kits branded with the Frederick R Miller logo on the front. Coaches and players also received Team Hoop Dreams t-shirts and hoodies featuring both the Frederick R Miller logo and the ‘Basketball For All’ Charity logo.

Looking ahead to 2025, Frederick R Miller Ltd has big plans to continue this support. They are set to back a Top 50 Players Elite Camp and Tournament, a Coaches Clinic, and another trip to the EYBL after its success in 2024.

This ongoing support is making a real difference for young players, helping them reach their potential both on and off the court.
