Williams Syndrome Charity Event
July 29th, 2017
On Saturday 29th July 2017 a fund raiser and awareness day was held at Anstey Park, Alton in aid of the Williams Syndrome Foundation. Frederick Miller Director, Elvie Carpenter’s granddaughter, Grace Louise was diagnosed with this condition at 3 months old and underwent open heart surgery at just 11 months old. She is now just over three and is a very active and fun toddler. The family were made aware of the WSF when Grace was diagnosed and the Foundation is run by parents and carers of young people with this condition. The support and constant access to information is a huge help to them as a family as they deal with the difficulties and problems caused by Grace’s condition.
A fun if wet day was held and they raised approximately £1300 for the foundation. Frederick R Miller generously donated the use of two vehicles, one to be used as a stage and the other for displaying of the raffle prizes. Thanks also to Nigel Crisp, one of the Frederick R Miller drivers who gave his
time on the day to drive the vehicle to the location and then collect after the event. You can find out more about the Williams Syndrome Foundation at: www.williams-syndrome.org.uk
